Unsurprisingly, every author’s experience of what has happened with Unbound is different. Some people have books about to come out, others are in limbo, plenty of us are just confused.
In some cases, though, authors have asked for their rights back and are now selling their own books. So if you want to support some of the people involved - and get to read a great book while you are doing this - why not buy directly from them? It’s like a farmer’s market, but for readers.
Julie Warren is selling It’s All In The Mind: The Life and Legacy of Larry Stephens (as featured in our last post) on eBay - all details here.
Tom Cox is selling paperbacks of Ring the Hill, and has a few copies remaining of Notebook and 1983. You can get find out more, and order through his website.
Katharine Quarmby is selling her novel The Low Road on eBay as well, and signed copies to boot - get them here.
You can get her book on Audible as well, which also means that she gets paid.
Also on audiobook is Alex de Campi’s The Scottish Boy, which you can find here.
Jane Perrone is selling Legends of the Leaf and The Allotment Keeper’s Handbook directly on her website, where you can find links to the audiobooks too.
Finally for now, Suzie Wilde’s Bera trilogy can be bought through her website - send a message via the contact form.
And you can also get these as audiobooks, starting with Sea Paths, here.
Plenty more Unbound authors are getting their own stock back, so there will be more to come. And thank you for every single book you buy - it will make a real different to authors who, as things stand, are not being paid for their work, and don’t have much prospect of getting that money.
Slight typo: Tom Cox's book is Ring the Hill, not Ring of the Hill. :)
